While most of us are working from home and staying inside, safe, life hasn’t changed for many. Essential workers are outdoors, risking their health and that of their families, often working harder to survive in a dwindling economy.
The reason I am able to eat healthy, home-cooked meals is the fresh veggies the vegetable vendors got me right at my doorstep. It truly feels like a luxury and makes me acknowledge my privilege every morning.

Little ones fighting the restlessness by looking outside the balcony, trying to find some action in the stillness around them. Managing with whatever little they have…little space, little freedom, few toys, fewer friends, wondering when will they be able to step out fearlessly, for all we have left them to wonder is not why the sky is blue or the birds chirp or the wind blows…but why is the sky dirty, why have the birds disappeared and why no rain yet?

Coronavirus brought in a lot of difficulties, lockdown being one of them. It struck every individual of our society in a different manner. The elderly, who are not surrounded by family are unknown to the ways of coping with the situation. The caretaker pictured here was a rock solid support for a sick old woman from the neighborhood when the world was falling apart. Stories like hers continue to touch our hearts.
