Her and Now – Publication Design

The brief was to create a comprehensive digital report on the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, especially for women entrepreneurs, and the ways and practices adopted by them to maintain livelihood stability, for posterity, and to champion their efforts.

When India’s first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in January 2020, it marked the beginning of a socio-economic downturn. In late March 2020, a nationwide lockdown was imposed by the government until July 2020. While the pandemic had a strong impact on all areas of society, it disproportionately impacted women and girls. Already underrepresented in India’s economy, women business owners now additionally experienced the adverse effects of this global crisis.

This report delves into the experience of women entrepreneurs and the pro-active measures taken by them to build back their business. Since this report was heavy on statistical graphs and different forms of data visualization, it was important to use the brand colors effectively to capture the reader’s attention. Photographs, highlighted passages, illustrated icons are some assets that have been used to provide the requisite visual relief from an otherwise text-heavy report.
